Women’s Health
We offer a comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of women’s health concerns. Pathways are delivered with specialist triage and encompass conditions such as heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain unrelated to significant ovarian pathology, pre-menstrual and menopausal symptoms, irregular or abnormal uterine bleeding (in women under 40), polycystic ovary syndrome, amenorrhea, oligomenorrhea, and reduced libido. Care is also provided for dyspareunia, dysmenorrhea, vaginismus, vaginal prolapse, and vulvovaginal symptoms including discharge and pruritus. The service excludes patients with suspected malignancy, those requiring long-acting contraception or subfertility investigations, early pregnancy care, and complex prolapse requiring surgical intervention following failed treatment.
Inclusions:
All pathways are delivered with triage
- Heavy menstrual bleeding
- Pelvic pain (Not relations to known ovarian pathology fibroid > 5cm or known endometriosis)
- Pre-menstrual symptoms
- Post coital bleeding – Pre-menopausal
- Oligomenorrhea
- Polycystic ovary syndrome
- Menopausal symptoms
- Amenorrhea
- Irregular bleeding
- Reduced libido
- Dysmenorrhea
- Dyspareunia
- Vaginismus
- Vaginal prolapse
- Vaginal discharge / genital pruritus
- Pruritus vulvae
- Abnormal uterine bleeding (Under 40s)
Exclusions:
- Suspected cancer
- Long-acting contraception
- Subfertility / infertility investigations / assessment / treatment
- Early pregnancy
- Prolapse potentially requiring surgical treatment due to non-response to previous treatment

- Ring and Shelf pessary insertion / removal / replacement
- Difficult smear
- Outpatient diagnostic hysteroscopy
- Polypectomy
- In house transvaginal scan
- Endometrial and pipelle biopsy
- Silver nitrate
- Women’s physiotherapy partners
- Topical treatment
- Day case and surgical procedures such as hysteroscopies under general anaesthesia and laparoscopic sterilisation
